The Delaware state senate sanctioned a bill legalizing gambling.
The senators decided to vote for the cancelling of the regulations before the full Senate. After that, 21 senators voted in favor of the bill and two voted against. There were two abstaining.
After the vote, the Governor Markell, who has been a very good leadership, affirmed that he’s very pleased that the Senate acted so quickly.
In the moment when Markel signed the bill, it was known that Delaware will be the first state of the Mississippi River which has legal sports gambling wagering. Some people consider that sports gambling wagering will offer around 50 million dollars every year for the Delaware state bugdet.
Nevertheless, the bill has encountered opposition from most major sports leagues and amateur sports organizations.
