Detroit city with its casino revenue have received a boost that there are some cities around the country experienced. Since the NCAA
Final 4 basketball tournament came back in April, things were not so rosy for the city’s casinos.
Last month, the casino revenues were down slightly from the last year, but it was up from June of this year.
The observer William Baxter admitted that Detroit could possibly be hit as hard as any city in the country by the economic downfall, and even with these hard economic times, the Detroit city’s casinos seem to be holding their own in comparison to the national figures.
William Baxter even understands the economical impact the recession is having on the rest of the United States. Both of them, Las Vegas as well as Atlantic City, are 2 cities that have built their reputations in the casino industry and also have experienced the revenues decline in the last months.
But the Detroit’s casinos are bucking the trend. The Greektown Casino is now trying to stave off bankruptcy, while annually it have had an increase of more than 25 %.
